BPL Global Appoints Executive Director Latin America

PITTSBURGH – February, 7 2008 – BPL Global™, Ltd., a smart grid technology company dedicated to leading the transformation of energy and information delivery, has appointed Geraldo Guimaraes Jr. executive director of BPL Global Latin America. Mr. Guimaraes brings extensive experience in the power distribution and communications industries to BPL Global. An early advocate of commercial and technical solutions for smart grid and theft detection, Mr. Guimaraes has the knowledge and skill to accelerate BPL Global’s business in the region.

Mr. Guimaraes began his career at CELPA S.A, a power distribution company where he held many positions, including chief information officer. Prior to joining BPL Global, Mr. Guimaraes was a business development director for LogicaCMG, a global IT company with 41,000 employees in 41 countries. He was also the sales and marketing director for Elucid Solutions S.A, a Brazilian software company with more than 200 employees. While at these companies, Mr. Guimaraes established and successfully led partnerships with IBM, Oracle, and SAP to provide software solutions to Latin American gas and power companies.
