Power SG Network Monitoring and Management

Power SG^® Network Monitoring and Management is designed to monitor and manage the electrical device layer for an intelligent grid. This software brings a new paradigm of proactive distribution management to grid operations from generation through to the customer. The system monitors real time information provided by either legacy or new communications equipment, devices and sensors located throughout the distribution grid. Issues at any device are immediately registered and an alarm with precise location information is generated, allowing the utility to drastically improve day-to-day grid management, avoid or swiftly respond to outages and restore power to affected areas quickly.

As electric utilities deploy more intelligent devices throughout their electrical network, they need to manage them using a common software platform. One effective approach to manage devices that are installed over dispersed geographical area is to overlay them on a geographical map. Power SG Network Monitoring & Management is a companion product to the Power SG Foundation.

The map overlay capability offers users the context of geographical relationship among the devices. The Power SG Network Monitoring & Management is also extensible and can import additional data from existing GIS platforms and combine the other geo-spatial info with the managed grid devices.

Power SG Network Monitoring & Management is integrated with other services that come with Power SG Foundation. Alarms generated from devices can be overlaid on the map, and users can navigate to the Alarm Manager of the platform to view the detail of a specific alarm. Users can also navigate to the device detail screen to look up detailed information pertaining to the devices that are stored in the platform's device tracker and data repository.
