Power SG® Integrated Distributed Energy Resource Management is a control system providing electric utilities with the capability to improve asset utilization and optimize management of the distribution network. For the first time, electric utilities can coordinate management of distributed generation, renewables, energy storage and demand on a common platform. This solution allows dynamic, real-time management based on the changing conditions of the distribution network. Significant annual value can be created for each managed circuit from market and operational benefits.
Integrated DER allows the utility to define modes of operation for the various operating states of the electrical network. These operating states address the condition of the grid, such as normal operations, high load operations, localized outages, etc. The system can be configured to respond differently based on state estimation of the controlled area. The software uses the data collected from all integrated system components, devices and resources to continually estimate how the operational state compares to the ideal state. The disparate resources along the grid such as renewables, storage, and demand management all contribute to the needs of the grid according to the state of the grid. The resulting energy, operational, capital and environmental efficiencies from this technology create significant value for electric customers and utilities.
The Power SG Integrated DER manages distributed energy resources in real time optimize energy delivery and reliability. The system utilizes six primary components:
